FORGIVE ME IF I LISTEN

The pleasant touch of your kind words
Dance lightly on my screen
That warm embrace of tendered thoughts
Does gentle provocation bring
The tempting taste of life enriched
Before me now lays taught
To steal my every thought of you
Of passion surely sought

For love that's freely given
Entrenched makes fears retreat
With confidence subtly hidden
And doubt not once I meet
Has made my strength undaunted
And sometimes brings applause
But not the reason given
For which I base my cause

Is not a dream worth holding
That brings great pleasure near
To say I love you darlin'
To cause an eye to tear
And bring a person closer
They often times will hear
Forgive me if I listen
For angels wings are near.
