 | | Heavy beats the heart
Whose passion must be hidden
Whose fire always dampened
And desires most forbiden
Like the cool embrace of sunshine
Upon the soul grows colder
Like the vivid colors of darkness
Reflections of thought less bolder
Like the rage of silent war
Within the heart lies quiet
To stiffle happiness within me
I surely will not buy it.
So if passion soars too wildly
Or reaches past constraint
Remember not the heart repressive
That finds a body faint
You'll sure not find a dally
When this organ needs its thrill
Nor find me sitting idly
When its time to take a pill
But find me tugging other hearts
All day and thru the night
To ease a lonely strangers soul
Into my fond delight
